ILSS – Institute of Lithuanian Scientific Society (lt. abbr. MSI) is a non-governmental research institution established by Lithuanian Scientific Society as umbrella organisation for research activities of the members of ILSS. Research on wide range of research topics is carried out on project-by-project basis.
Organization of the work of ILSS is based on the concept of virtual research centre with minimization of administrative costs and organizing research on a project-by-project basis.
During years of existence ILSS proved its sustainability and capability to be a reliable partner in Lithuanian RTD system, working on a project-by-project basis without getting sufficient statutory funds from governmental organizations.
